AbstractThe Chet Network is a new transportation network design which is proposed to substitute the existing grid network which has been proven to be ineffective. The Chet Network is an at-grade transportation network that does not require any intersection controls such as traffic signals roundabouts or stop signs. Since the proposed network is in its early stages this research focuses on creating a 3D city model in which the Chet Network is fully established. This created model can be used to demonstrate how a citys transportation functions when the Chet network is established. For the 3D modelling purposes the 3D city modelling and softwares that is used to create 3D city models were researched. Softwares such as SketchUp, Cybercity, CityCAD and ESRI CityEngine were reviewed. From these softwares the CityEngine was used to create the desired city model. The street networks were drawn using the AutoCAD and transferred to CityEngine using the ESRI ArcMap. For the generation of the model the rule files were obtained from the Redlands Redevelopment example and ESRI Complete Streets example. Finally a video was created showcasing the interaction and navigation of the exported Web Scene of the model.
