AbstractWater is an essential factor to human life and is a factor that affects the economy of any country. Rivers are a major contributor to the water demand of the world. The West Seti River of Nepal is one such contributor. It is a known fact that climate change affects the river flow and related component. Also, the importance of predicting flow patterns is paramount for the planning purposes of any region. Therefore, the necessity of hydrological modelling is high. However, the only method for carrying out modelling is by using RCM data, namely, ACCESS, GFDL and MPI (RCP4.5 and RCP8.5), which requires correction. Therefore, the purpose for this study was focused on bias correction of flow and flow obtained with the use of bias corrected RCM data. By using the correction methods Linear Scaling (LS) and Quantile Mapping (QM), it was determined that bias correction of flow using QM was most effective and hence was used for flow prediction alongside flow simulated with bias corrected RCM data. The results brought forward showed an increase of flow from the Near Future (NF) to the Mid Future (MF) in the RCP4.5 scenario and a decrease of flow in the RCP8.5 scenario. The Soil and Water Assessment Tool (SWAT) was used for modelling. The study area was the West Seti River basin, Nepal.
