AbstractElectrical resistivity measurements are usually used for geophysical characterization. But electrical properties of soils can also be used as a control measure for compaction of soil. Theoretical relations between the electrical resistivity and water content can be developed and then it is plotted in a graph. The resistivity curves for a particular value of resistivity considering different values of moisture content can be defined as a resistivity chart, which can be used for compaction control of soil. This research presents about an experimental study which was conducted in order to fulfil the knowledge gap of usage of an improved control measure in soil compaction. In this research gravel sand is compacted and using the resistivity of the compacted samples set of resistivity curves are developed in such a way it can be used as a control measure for compaction.
