AbstractIn this study, development of smart home security system is focused and implemented. This system is to control the door access (opening and closing) using human face recognition. For face detection is investigated by using Harr cascade classifier and face recogniton is investigated by using principal component analysis (PCA). Face detection and recognition process is investigated by using Emgu CV and Visual studio installed on PC. After recogni tion process is done, the information will be sent to Arduino via serial communication and the Arduino will make decision (opening and closing the door) according to the informa tion sent. As additional features, the system can communicate with user via LCD and GSM module (sending information via SMS if unauthorized person is detected and sensors are detected). The system can also detect human motion and fire by using PIR sensor and MQ-2 gas sensor. And also the buzzer is used as an output to give alarm.
