AbstractRobotics is a valuable educational tool that introduces students to a variety of different en gineering disciplines such as electrical, computer, and mechanical engineering. This report describes the development of a vacuum cleaner robot prototype, both on software and hard ware point of view. I used the xyz 3D printer to print for the suction parts of our robot, and the total size of the robot is about 30cm in width and 25cm in length. The robotic vacuum cleaner has two modes that are automatic mode and manual mode. The DC motor built in encoder is used for positioning control and velocity control in this project. The position control is to measure the distance travelling and velocity control is to control the speed of the motor. For the motion path, the robot will follow the wall and measure the length of the wall then it will go inside as a cycle by cycle. The sharp sensors are put around the robot for detecting the obstacle and support for following the wall. The ultrasonic sensor at the front of the robot to detect the obstacle. Both the hardware and software are successfully running simple algorithms for distance measurement and motion path.
