AbstractStandards are used in railway system to provide an economical, safe and comfortable service to the customers. In order to make this achievement standards explain what has to be done or how something needs to be done. Rail Transportation is one of the major land transporta- tion methods which are being used every day by millions of people for different uses and services. Different countries follow and recommend different sets of Standards to be used in the Rolling Stocks and Power Systems used in Rail Transportation. But these Standards of Rolling Stocks and Power Systems of trains which are being followed by different nations are widely spread. There has been less effort in making these Standards group up region- wise or country-wise in order to make a data base which will facilitate easy access of these Standards. To overcome this problem and find a solution, several countries where railway transportation is in a higher level were selected and Standards which they use in Rolling Stocks and Power Systems were collected. These Standards were separated in to section in accordance to the different Systems in the Rolling Stocks and Power Systems. With the ana- lyze of the data collected it came in to light that each countries practice different Standards in the Rolling Stocks and Power System production and maintenance but at certain points there are some relationships between these Standards where some countries follow other countries Standards.
