AbstractRoad traffic accident is not a loss of a life but it is hard to recover from that tragedy to all those concerned and it is a loss of the government economy. As an engineering student I concerned about it and I did this report. The research mainly focuses on the accidents how changing with the radius of curvature in 18 Wanguwa, Sri Lanka (A26 Road). The main task of the research is finding the relationship between radius of curvature of a road and accidents. And the sub task is finding the relationship between radius of curvature of a road and acci- dents based on time (day or night), turn (left or right) and the impact of the accident (injury or non-injury). The results from the analysis shows that percentage of accident decreases with the increasing radius of curvature for left and right turn curves, however the accident percentage difference between left turn and right turn is decreasing with the increasing radius of curvature. Most of the accidents occur in night time and the difference between the accident percentages in day and night time is decreasing with the increase radius. And non injury situation is increasing with the increase radius of curvature. The conclusion of the research is explained about the recommendations for Road Development Authority (RDA) Sri Lanka. Furthermore, recommendations for road user safety also discussed
