AbstractThe purpose of this study is to find the flow number for the given samples and determine the relationship to rutting resistance. Simple performance test is commonly used for this test as well as Asphalt mixture performance test (AMPT) is another name for this test. This test was done for the recommended ASSHTO standards. 42 samples were given by the Department of Highway (DOH) Thailand, and there were 14 mixtures to determine the flow number. As in the ASSHTO standards 500C and 600kPa are the standard temperature and the standard stress respectively. According to the given data from DOH, analyzing data did for 7 methods. 7 methods were done to clarify the results. Graphical method and moving over 10, 20, 30 methods were used to determine the flow number. After obtaining data, comparison plots between Cycles vs Microstrains and Cycles vs Strain rate were drawn. Analyzed data clarified all flow numbers were correctly analyzed and it was proved by different methods. As in the literature review describes, flow number directly proportional to rutting resistance. Since the flow number is major impact on rutting resistance, obtained data were applied to the flow number criteria to classify the samples.
