Abstract | In the world of competitive business every enterprise wants to earn maximum profit with minimum inputs. Continuous improvement in resources such as, Manpower, Machine, Material, Time and Money are required for the survival of the industry in the global competition. In order to cater the customer requirements, it is necessary to have sufficient machine capacity collaborated with newest technology. The rationale of this project is to analyze an existing CNC milling plant and develop a solution profile to improve the current machining capacity through minimizing machining time and tool path optimization. The first section of this paper finds out the major causes for the insufficient machine capacity with the aid of a down time analysis and engaging with the company. In the second part of the project based on the findings a solution profile is developed with the aid of suitable commercially available CAM software, which can be used to achieve the target capacity of thirty percent machining time reduction. |
