AbstractViscoelastic dampers (VED) are one of the most widely used damping things and dissipated destruction energy added to structure by an earthquake. Several properties and arrangements of VED’s are available to maximize the strength of a structure with a seismic event. The damper is usually added as part of a section of bracing in a concentrically braced frame (CBF), which also takes load parts. The objective of this study is to investigate the effect of bracing location and thickness on three bays with six different coefficients into a diagonal, inverted V-shape, V-shape braced frames. New comparisons are to do with bracing location and thickness which is the best result and the types. When C value rises the story drift and displacement will reduce but the story shear increased. Comparison with location and damper thickness clearly demonstrate that Chevron bracing system is far superior in the reduction of the mentioned parameters. The time history analyses will be carried out analysis in ETABS.
