Abstract | This study is one of the protection of earthquakes that may happen every time in the world. Although there are many techniques in the world, installing dampers is one of the famous method to do. My study is joining inverted V shaped (Chevron) with Friction damper. Both medium and high rised stories are considered in this study. For example, 10 story and 20 story. This study location will be considered in US 48 states, mainly in the California. The earthquake that will be used in this study will be Loma Prieta, Northridge and San Fernando. Story displacement, story drift, story acceleration and story shear will be mainly considered as the result. The most important thing in this study is ETabs software. In this study, the main point is to focus on the effect of bracing locations on Chevron braced steel frames with friction damper. |
