AbstractRecent advances in information technologies have made significant changes in many areas like education, research, industries and business. In the area of business, these technologies have made globalization of the business operations a reality. In order to be in the cutting edge of the globalization process, organizations have to decide which information technologies are the most appropriate for them at present. This research is an attempt on two of the most successful information technologies for globalization: Electronic Data Interchange (EDI) and Internet and proposes basic guidelines on how to apply them for business. This research also provides information related to usage, cost, obstacles and trend of both technologies in Thailand obtained by a survey. The results of this survey may be useful to business organizations in developing countries.
