AbstractThis CAI package is a multimedia software. It is developed to teach about mathematical modeling which is the fundamental step of operations research. A mathematical model is used to represent the real problem. This package discusses linear programming and integer programming formulation. In addition, it introduces concepts in LINDO and LINGO softwares which can be used to solve those mathematical models. This package is implemented on a microcomputer Pentium 120 MHz equipped with multimedia device. It is developed using Authorware 3.5 which is an authoring system. All programs are made to executable files which can be run on microcomputers without Authorware Runtime installation. They can be converted to map files for a web page using Authorware 4.0. After this package has already been developed, it is evaluated by eight AIT students from various programs. The result is encouraging, in that all learners can formulate linear programming and integer programming models and can solve these models by using LINDO and LINGO after learning all lessons from this package.
