AbstractThis project is about autonomous vacuum cleaner which is based on random walk path plan- ning method and will vacuum in a room or any areas without any human interaction. In the present, the peoples main problem is no enough time to do tasks, so reducing routine tasks is one of solutions. Therefore, this progress report shows what problems of vacuum cleaning with a robot are, why the robot is suitable for vacuum cleaning task and what the methodolo- gies for achieving the problems are. To finish this project robot, designing, implementation and testing are went through. 12V DC motors, rotary encoder, ultrasonic sensors, infrared obstacle avoidance sensors, infrared reflective sensors, Arduino microcontroller, power sup- ply, 5V power card and motor drivers are used to make the robot functional. This robotic vacuum cleaner will move by random path planning method and avoid not only obstacles but also stairs and any kind of drop-offs. Moreover, this robot will not access the place where the user does not want it to and this is called as a virtual wall function.
