AbstractLoyalty is an important factor in a company's success or failure. It reduces turnover, improves performance and increases productivity. This study attempts to examine reasons why engineers change jobs and major incentives that will make engineers stay longer with a company and lead to increased loyalty to company. Using a statistical analysis of survey data, the study identified significant differences between engineer's and manager's rankings of reasons for changing jobs and the incentives that can be used to prevent job changes. Many year ago, young engineers were interested in experience and attractive job were the main reasons for changing jobs. Nowadays the main reason for changing jobs is job security. The degree of opinion (emphasis) of engineers for incentive is higher than managers. Managers emphasize financial incentives (bonus, construction bonus) and engineers emphasize career advancement (promotion plan, job rotation). Spearman's rank correlation indicate that the correlation of incentive ranking between engineer's and manager's ranking is very low.
