Abstract | Due to the need for continuous control throughout the life of a construction project, computer applications are very essential to achieve this purpose. They can assist in reducing the time of an information processing system or even improving the quality of information available for decision making. C/SCSC (Cost and Schedule Control Systems Criteria) are the procedures for monitoring project performance based on Instruction DODI 7000.2 issued by the Department of Defense in December, 1967. They have already been proven as effective tools that can support construction management procedures with an integrated cost-control and schedulecontrol system. Therefore, in this study, the computer application for project control was developed. This computer application applied the advantages of C/SCSC for control purposes in development. In this application, value of resources ; material labor and equipment, was analyzed separately and could be selected separately to monitor for each activity. Thus, it was an effective tool to identify and isolate from the application's outputs the most critical information for a given situation. Moreover, with tabular representations of cost information, and graphical representations of vertical bars and cumulative progress curves (S-Curves), this application could give project teams a good understanding of the project status. |
