AbstractToday automation technology has been applied into printed circuit board (PCB) manufac- turing industry in mass scale. Accuracy and precision are the key features in this industry. Because of these requirements PCBs are manufactured using specialised computer aided de- sign and manufacturing (CAD/CAM) systems. This report explains a development of an automated PCB drilling system using Arduino based CNC technology where the drilling points and traces are obtained through the PCB schematic. Key features are the extraction of drill points and traces, mapping those into cartesian coordinates, convert those coordinates into part programming language and manufacturing using gantry machinery system.
