Abstract | This project focuses on the development of a low cost spin coating system, that can be used for various substrates. The system has been implemented using an Arduino Mega 2560 controller, which acts as the main controller of the system. The main actuator of the system is a 4000RPM motor. The user can provide the input parameters to the system either through the keypad and buttons that are placed on the device itself, or through a computer GUI which is linked to the system via a serial USB connection. A laser is used to detect the uniformity of the spin coating Should the user choose to use the computer GUI, upon giving the start command, a graph depicting the current speed of the motor will be displayed to the user in real time. The system is able to monitor the speed of the system through the use of an encoder. Further the system is able to monitor the temperature and humidity of the system through the use of temperature and humidity sensors which are connected to the Arduino. |
