Abstract | Nowadays people use Ground Positioning System (GPS) basically for outdoor localization purposes. Satellite based GPS is unable to give precise location in indoor environment due to reasons such as scattering, signal fading and path loss. This research paper focus on presenting an indoor position system based on Wi-Fi and Bluetooth RSSI values for multi floor environment. This hybrid method was successful in giving much more accurate results when compared to a non-hybrid method. In this study we used KNN algorithm as positioning algorithm and used Euclidean distance to calculate distance function. Using Bluetooth beacons, we can narrow down the searching area in order to save both cost and time. During offline data collection process Wi-Fi RSSI values have been collected in a span of every 2m throughout the accessible areas in UG-Extension building. |
