| Abstract | Globalization is a current trend in telecommunication industry, which has increased the size of markets and greatly enhanced competition. This has benefited customers who obtain better quality service at lower cost. But, it has also exposed the modern telecommunication corporation to significant risks and, in many cases, cut profit margins. Under this circumstance, the evaluation of telecommunication project in global market, especially in developing countries, seems to be more strategic and critical for the telecommunication corporations' survival, expansion and success. With the complicated political and economic environment in developing countries' fledgling market-oriented economy, the evaluation of the international telecommunication project will not only a matter of financial analysis with advanced discount cash flow techniques, but also involves due diligence qualitative analysis and first of all, strategic consideration. Through a case study of a Thai telecommunication company's investment project evaluation in China, a comprehensive analysis of project evaluation is presented and is expected to have some practical significance in any industry with the similar kind of investment opportunities. |
