| Abstract | China took on a new look in these years. Foreign direct investment is regarded the key force pushing forward the economic development of China after its "open door" policy. Guangdong is the pioneer province in implementing Chinese economic reform. Its main economic indexes remain top in China in recent year. It is important to derive some useful experiences and lessons from the success of this province. This research proposes a framework for the assessment of foreign direct investment in Guangdong by comparing foreign investing enterprises (FIE) in Guangdong with that of other provinces from several viewpoints, analyzing the trend of number of enterprises, contracted amount, actually utilized amount of three types of FIEs and financial effects of FIEs. By evaluating the success factors of a equity joint ventme-Zhanjiang Casonic Electronic Industrial Co. Ltd., the author tries to give readers a more detailed and practical illustration of investing in Guangdong province. Advantages and difficulties are also identified. At last, recommendation based on the analysis provides a reference to the government and investors. |
