Abstract | In this research, we survey on the techniques which have been proposed to improve the performance of the existing cellular CDMA, IS-95, system. This research focuses on the four specific and important techniques for cellular CDMA system i.e. power control technique, multipath resolution and combining technique, soft handoff technique and spreading codes. For each technique, we first discuss on the algorithm of the corresponding technique using in the IS-95 system then discuss on the algorithm of the proposed techniques and present the numerical results of that particular algorithm obtained from various papers. We also compare the performance, complexity and implementation feasibility of those algorithms and conclude that how the performance of the IS-95 system can be improved by the best algorithms. |
