AbstractThere are many approaches for maintaining consistency of inter-related data in heterogeneous databases. But none of them have been tested in real-world applications. In this thesis, we study the possibility of applying one of these proposals, the 'Polytransaction' model to integrate four real-world heterogeneous and autonomous databases at AIT: the Admission and Registration System (ARGS), the Housing Management System (HOMS), the Student Bursary System (SBS), and the Invoice System (INV) system.
