AbstractCustomer service will be a critical success factor to the electricity utility in Taiwan, especially after the privatization of the industry. Using GIS to link customer information to the utility network can deliver major benefits in a variety of areas which make a significant contribution to improve customer service objectives. In this study, Integration of both spatial data and attribute data have been done for the purpose of minimizing the amount of compensation to be paid to the customer based on the Electricity Compensation Act of Taiwan. The study is the HH-74 feeder located in the city of Taichung in central Taiwan. A methodology has been developed to integrated the spatial data and customer information using Atlas GIS and Microsoft Visual Foxpro. The goal of the system is to provide as much information as possible. The system assists the decision maker in the decision-making process by providing spatial information that are based on the criteria given. The decision-making information were graphically displayed using the Atlas GIS package.
