Abstract | This research concerns the situation that we always find many older employees want to continue to his/her skills while many organizations are not prepared for demographic shifts. While there are many inevitable reasons for elderly employees to one day leave the organization, organizations still can get many opportunities if they know how to manage the old workforce properly while maintaining a good job satisfaction level. This study aims to find how organizational factors influence job satisfaction of older employees. The purpose is fulfilled using a quantitative method. The research question guiding study involves questions about non-financial factors, financial factors and work-life balance. To answer the research question, there are two questions including “Does age influence job satisfaction?” and “What are the organizational factors which influence job satisfactions in older employees within supervisory and non - supervisory? ” This research was performed by using primary data from two types of business which are manufacturing and service business. The employees from manufacturing and service business were from email, social sites and lastly few were contacted personally face to face for the matter of data collection for this research. Secondary data were from articles, journals, related research/thesis topics. The study will be beneficial for the company to manage organization. The elderly might be more interested in works where they can share their life long work experience possibly through teaching the young employees. Considering the negative effect of task identity, the elderly employees may be looking for works which are well known to them. |
