AbstractThis study is aimed at assessing the land suitability classification for coffee plantation Remote Sensing and Geographic Information System were used as a tool for spatial data analysis. Linear factors combination was used to identify land suitability for coffee plantation. A TM satellite image was used to get the new land use map for study area. The analysis was done by incorporating data related to physical and chemical properties of soil. Infrastructure such as road network and the availability of water were considered as the additional conditions for suitability analysis. Result of the research showed clearly total area in suitable levels and total potential to extend coffee area. This can use as guideline for land use planning, helping the fame to solve the problem how to use the land at high income value. Finally, the research conducted in order to protect environment during developing time, this has contribute a task in sustainable development
