AbstractMekonimex Cantho is the largest import- export company in Cantho in term of its export value, and so it plays an important role by its contribution in economic development in Cantho in particular and in the Mekong Delta in general. Although the company has obtained many achievements in its business operation in the recent years, it also faces many difficulties in protecting its existence and development. Two of problems at present of the company are how to penetrate and develop markets and how to find financing sources to further development strategy. In this study, the author attempts to analyze the import-export situation and status-quo of the company, then suggests a feasibility model to help the company develop. In addition, the author would like to introduce some growth alternatives in business strategy such as market penetration, market development, product development and financial strategy. Also, the author recommend forms of new ventures to develop, of which she introduces to the company a model "feasibility planning" as a guidance. Two issues that will be mentioned related to financing resources for new ventures, and international markets - new venture opportunities are mentioned in detail. By implementing the proposed model as the basis, feasibility planning will be formulated for the company to continue and to develop new ventures - HAKKO chicken venture is a example. First, planning the venture and doing the preliminary work of obtaining resources and getting organized prior to start-up. Second, the initial period of business, positioning the venture in a market and making necessary adjustments to assure survival. Third, a period of often rapid development and growth when the venture is undergoing major changes in markets, finance and resource utilization. Finally, the evolution of a venture into a large company with active competitors in an established industry that professional management is more important. The recommendation to adapt the model can help the company gain business advantages. The author's recommendations are concentrated on the market and finance issues to the company that create growth, the policy issues to the governments of the local provinces in the Mekong Delta and as well as the Vietnamese government on financing that will support SBUs to develop.
