Abstract | In the plastics industry, the injection molding process is widely used. The design and manufacture of the injection molds are recognized as an essential stage. The use of CAD/CAM/CNC techniques play a key role in production and have a great impacts on the cost of the products. However, how to use these techniques efficiently is still a problem in practice. This study aims to determine the most suitable method for design and manufacture injection mold efficiently tlll'ough the case study of popular product as fan rotor. First of all, the recent researches on design and manufacture will be reviewed. Then, the work concentrates on looking for the best modeling method for product. It also considers CNC toolpath generating with a view to select the suitable parameters for a given 5 axis milling machine. Thus, the basic operations will be performed in 2 modes : 3 axis and 5 axis. By analyzing the results, the author can roughly evaluate the advantages and disadvantages of each method in order to select the best one for design and machining injection molds in general. |
