AbstractA research study submitted in partial fulfillment of the requirements for the degree of Master of Engineering. This thesis is divided by two parts. The first part is power system assessment and the other one is power demand forecasting. The first part is to calculate the past trend of Siem Reap power system from technological performance, identify the major problems and make major opportunities to improve and assess of policies to improve the performance by using ratio or engineering method to measure. The consumer perception on electrification impact, consumer evaluation on quality of supply and consumer opinion on electricity pricing are also included in this study. The people perception shows that the people are interested in participating in electrification projects. This study presents the End-used approach to forecast the electric power demand of Siem Reap city by two different scenarios (Low scenario and High scenario) for the period 1996- 2010, using yearly data from 1985- 1995 and field survey conducted for the study.
