AbstractIn the recent years we observe an explosion of the Internet with plethora of information available to its users. It is time consuming as well as tiresome to locate intended information manually from the distributed Web servers. This research describes a Web agent that will assist user for discovery of the Internet resources especially HTML documents and PostScript files being sought. The developed model of the Web agent consists of Web-Wandering Robot and Search Engine. User can make query from any point of the Internet to the resource indices created by the Web-Wandering Robot. Robots use breadth-first strategy to scour the Web and create two indices: one is by the title and content of HTML documents, and the second one is by the Postscript files referenced in the documents. HTML form based searching facilitates user to select boolean AND or OR query model for three different search options.
