Abstract | As the world becomes more globalized, the internet’s influence has grown more significant, whether it is on personal preferences or for corporate usage. This showcased the most through the expanding international prominence of e-commerce platforms and their thriving appeal among consumers, especially during a time of a global public health crisis like the COVID-19 pandemic. However, there are very few existing studies that are focused on this phenomenon happening in Nepal. Therefore, this research study lays out the factors that affect consumers’ decisions to adopt and use such platforms in Nepal during the pandemic. The goal of this research study was to evaluate the impact of perceived ease of use, perceived reliability, perceived safety, and perceived lack of alternatives on e-commerce adoption in Nepal during the pandemic. This research study used a quantitative approach using questionnaires to collect data from 254 respondents in Nepal. The data was then first tested for reliability and validity and subsequently analyzed using statistical tools, namely, Correlation Analysis and Multiple Regression Analysis, to gauge the degree of relationship between the variables. The analysis revealed that perceived ease of use, perceived safety, and perceived lack of alternatives had a significant impact on consumers’ decision to adopt e-commerce during the pandemic while perceived reliability supposedly had no such impact. This research study could prove as a vital piece of information for e-commerce platforms on formulating strategies during times of crisis. It could provide the required details on which aspects of their business models they could improve upon and which they can remove to ensure their survival and profitability while providing the best quality of products and service to consumers |
