AbstractEngineering properties of sand stone and sandy siltstone from two boreholes at the Lam Ta Khong Pumpe d Storage Project were investigated in the laboratory. Preserved rock core samples we re collected from borehole DHP- 4 & DHT-17 for determining t he uniaxial compressive strength, static and dynamic elastic and shear strength parameters. Test result s s how that sand stone can be classified as medium strength whereas Sandy siltstone can be classified as medium strength, too . For sandstone, it s cohesion is 11. 29 MPa and its intern a l friction ang l e is 35.09. For sandy siltstone, i ]s cohesion is 3.55 MPa and its internnal friction ang l e is 64.2 . Some comp a r as i on between this stud y a nd previous study s how that many properties a r e c lose or within the similar ranges each other.
