AbstractTilapia seed production is now widely popular as a requirement for more intensive commercial fish production. Seed production itself is affected by different factors ranging from biological to environmental conditions. Included here are dieta1y feeding frequency and ration level of the broodfish diet. Subjecting the female Nile tilapia to restricted and satiation rations, both administered at once and twice per day will give us a clearer insight of these factors on seed production. The experiment was designed as a two-way factorial Anova with replication to detect the effect among the different treatments on seed production. It was found out that restricted feeding at 0.5% body weight was better than satiation ration in the seed production performance and growth pe1f01mance of female broodfish. It was fiuther found that increasing the feeding frequency does not improve the growth perfo1mance of broodstock. As an improvement to this study, fish samples taken from each replicate should be analyzed after eve1y breeding inte1val. For fiuther studies, it is recommended that water quality should also be conelated with seed production and that male broodfish should also be considered to evaluate seed production perfo1mance.
