AbstractThe study investigates the factors affecting employee motivation at JAC Recruitment Vietnam, a Japanese company based in Vietnam. This study examines four factors including expectancy, instrumentality, valence and the extent to which they influence employee motivation. The research uses quantitative method to analyze data collected from questionnaire. All 34 employees at JAC Vietnam company are surveyed and interviewed. The results found that that there was a positive connection between these four factors and motivation. Job satisfaction has the most effect on motivation, following is valance, expectancy and instrumentality respectively. Moreover, the study explores the difference among demographic factor specified that employees who are male express higher motivation than female. Motivation model which is constructed in this study was employed in a Japanese company base in Vietnam even if it based on several models from Western. Future research about motivation of MNCs in Vietnam or domestic company can be grounded from this study.
