Abstract | The rapid increase in demand of cellular mobile telephones has resulted in the attempt to enhance the capacity in cellular network. An adaptive antenna array at the base station for DS-CDMA system is one method that can increase the system capacity. In this thesis, the performances of an adaptive antenna array for asynchronous DS-CDMA with BPSK modulation and correlation receiver in A WGN channel are studied. The method based on Recursive Least Square (RLS) algorithm for weights adaptation is used. The improvements in performance are qualified by comparison with the omnidirectional antenna, uniform linear and uniform circular arrays by using Monte Carlo simulation. The simulation results are presented which demonstrate that an adaptive antenna array at the base station can dramatically improve the reverse channel performances of multicell mobile radio systems that have the wedge-cell geometry. |
