Abstract | The recent development of the Thai banking industry, including the process of financial liberalization and its effect on the Thai banking industry systems was explored. Research focused on the six largest banks in the Thailand and the study analyzed the strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, threats, and competitive strategies of each bank. The results of the study revealed that each of the bank in this study used all of the three generic strategies; cost leadership, product differentiation, and focus. These strategies were utilized in combination or separately on different occasions. However, all the banks stressed the importance of customer satisfaction by utilizing technology and human resources to reach their goals. Technology has been at the core of the bank's ability to provide services and products to their customers. |
