Abstract | The two-wavelength scheme is proposed for optical TDMA (OTDMA) networks using optical signal processing. It uses two wavelength to carry optical TDMA and clock signals, respectively. At the receiver both signals are easily separated by using a WDM demultiplexer, and therefore, the frame and time-slot synchronizations are feasibly achieved by using optical fiber delay lines. Then OTDMA receivers operate in self-synchronization manner. To feasible design OTDMA networks, an analysis of the system performance is required. In this study we have been taken into account the possibility of practical implementation of the proposed two-wavelength OTDMA systems. This study presents a new performance analysis of OTDMA systems. Bit-error-rate (BER) and receiver sensitivity have been investigated under worst case interference conditions, fiber dispersion, shot noise, dark current, and electrical receiver amplifier noise. This work presents numerical analysis of OTDMA systems. The performance of two-wavelength OTDMA systems is evaluate |
