AbstractInternational trade is an important factor for economic growth and development in developing countries. With imports of machinery and capital goods, developing countries can import technology to improve productivity and reduce the duplication of research and development activities. However, there are many barriers to free trade. Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) is an forum with seventeen Asia-Pacific Rim countries which have the common objective of trade liberalization and open regionalism. This study presents an analysis of trade flows among APEC members: their economical situation, the role in the world economy and international trade, the trade value, the main trade commodities, main trade directions and the trends of trade flows among APEC region. The research also studies the technology contents in manufactured goods, the policy to promote manufactured goods exports in selected developing countries in APEC region. A policy recommendations is conducted for the countries' exports promotion and technology progress.
