Abstract | The special building blocks for Modular Production System (MPS) developed in this thesis for the logistics simulation have been introduced as an user friendly simulation tool to solve problems of planning the layout and control of these kind of system. The user can be a production engineer which is not strongly simulation background. This thesis presents the concept and implementation of an user defined building blocks in the simulator SIMPLE++ to create special building blocks for a MPS from PESTO DIDACTIC. The proposed building block can be a powerful tool for training, designing and analysis in the specific area of MPS. A hierarchical control concept is employed between building blocks at the factory level and the control level. The study concentrates on realizing the modular concept with an user friendly interface for the model building. Various control strategies are employed in this study. With the developed building blocks, a specific MPS system can be easily modeled by a production requirement without extensive simulation experience. |
