AbstractThis research is based on a knitwear company operating in Pakistan that been facing many production management problems. The management of the firm felt that if a systematic approach to solve these problems was developed, considerable savings could be made. Thus the main objectives of this research was to develop a methodology to systematically study the production management problems in terms of the four components of technology. This methodology was used to study the production management problems of the firm and solutions have been suggested to overcome these problems. The research also studied the financial aspect of these problems and a preliminary analysis has been made to estimate the kind of savings that would result if the solutions are implemented.
