Abstract | Garment Industry is unquestionably the dominant sector boosting the economy of Pakistan. Without modern marketing, production and management techniques, we are losing competitive edge in the World market. What is keeping us put up in the World market is our cheap labor and self-sufficiency in cotton. But these things will not keep us long in the international market. Garment Industry of Pakistan has rich potential for expansion and export promotion. Its exploitation will largely depend upon on the industry's ability to achieve success in marketing its products through expert management, adoption of efficient production methods, improving technical training and adopting quality control effectively. Mostly the Pakistani firms think of their relationship with the customers entirely as a one side process. They rely on the customer to make the move first. This report examines the distribution channel member relationship and entry strategies for the garment and allied related product exporters of Pakistan in the Middle East, taking United Arab Emirates as a case example. |
