Abstract | This paper proposes a new scheme of multiple ARQ links in tandem concatenated along a connection and evaluates the transmission efficiency of the overall connection. For this analysis, this paper formulates the transmission efficiency of multiple ARQ links in tandem by deriving the general solution from that of a few links. Both overall propagation delay and bit error rate (BER) are divided into multiple portions in a short distance so that the transmission efficiency of each portion much improves to give better overall efficiency than that of the connection using a single ARQ link. The overall performance has been analyzed using Go-Back-N and Selective-Repeat ARQ schemes. The results achieved are than investigated for possible applications in A TM networks. |
