Abstract | Mathematica is a powerful system for doing mathematics on computer, compnsmg symbolic manipulation, numerical mathematics, outstanding graphics and sophisticated programming language. There are built-in functions, standard packages in Mathematica that can be used' to support several simulation algorithms. In this study, several simulation programs were developed using Mathematica. Particularly, general programs for three important simulation models, named: Invent01y, Investment and Queueing were developed. These programs provide the tools in predicting system behavior, thereby aiding decision making in the evaluation of alternatives. The main advantage of Mathematica is that besides offering many pnm1tlves and constructs found in a general-purpose language, it also contains the special built-in functions, packages that reduces the burden in programming for simulation models. Therefore, it is very good tool for use in developing simulation programs. |
