AbstractObject 01iented programming environments lack the feature of providing persistence and other manipulation procedures to objects. This research is aimed at providing persistence and object manipulation to persistent objects through creating relational Database tables for each class. Thus, giving an approach to utilize both the features of object oriented and relational database environments. This is done in four steps: First is to design a model for the development of an object manager, second is development of group of mapping mechanisms for manipulation of objects between Object Oriented Programming environment and the relational database, third is creation of a library of classes, called Object Management Library (OML), which is an implementation of these mechanisms. Fourth is the development of Software called extended object manager (EOM), which is developed by integrating an Object oriented programming environment, a relational database and the Object management library. The Object otiented programming environment used in the development of this software is Borland C++ and the relational database used is Foxpro.
