AbstractNowadays, the advertisement is competitive. By using a large billboard structure to advertise is one common way. Generally, a large billboard structure is constructed in urban area with high-level above from the ground. Also, a large billboard have large frontal large panel which can be subjected by wind load. From many previous study show that wind load that acting on the billboard is govern by quasi-static. However, vibration of billboard structure under natural wind load are compose of two main components. The first component is background response which is control by stiffness of billboard. The second components is resonant response which is can suppress by damping ratio of billboard structure. Moreover, the behavior of billboard its under wind load acting like a cantilever structure the structure itself can deflect. When the billboard structure is deflect the structure itself can modified the wind that approach to the billboard structure this phenomena called “Aerodynamic damping of the structure” this kind of damping can combine with structural damping. Thus, “damping ratio of the structure can be increased also when damping ratio of the structure raised the resonant response is” minimized. Therefore, in this study focus on aerodynamic damping by aeroelastic model and in the actual full-scale billboard structure.
