AbstractBoth paramatric and visual continuities were considered in this study for composite Ball curves where adjacent segments may have different degrees. In addition, Ball sutfaces were developed from Ball curves by using the same approach which produces Bezier smfaces from Bezier curves. Important properties of Ball surfaces were derived and it was showed that Ball tensor product surfaces are much better for degree raising and lowering as compared to Bezier form. For Ball triangular surfaces, the study further investigated a recursive algorithm for evaluating a point on the surface and provided the comparison of the complexity of the recursive algorithm and the de Casteljau algorithm for Bezier triangular surfaces.
