| Abstract | Designing systems for coin recognition involve a large number of inputs to take into account due to such things as rotation inva1iance. We report here an implementation of a coin recognition system based on Neural Networks. The system is trained using back-propagation algorithm. The number of inputs required can be declared using a genetic algorithm. The experiments carried out a Japanese, Korean, Indonesian and Thailand coins show a significant reduction in the number of inputs required thus leading to the simplicity of the coin recognition system. |
