Abstract | Plastic is more widely used than ever, however, with that comes the problem of plastic pollution. This study selected Ubon Ratchathani province in Thailand to identify plastic leakage source hotspots and the pathway that plastic has taken to rivers through the Geographic Information System. The Fuzzy Overlay Method was used for the original 13 layers from the CounterMEASURE project to find the leakage source hotspots, where have a lot of living activities such as Ubon Muang Ratchatani center, Warin Chamrap, Det Udom center, Trakan Phutphon center as well as Rawe area in Phibun Mangsahan. From the analysis of the locations of hotspots, natural conditions, river networks, artificial barriers and specific places where many production and living activities are concentrated, the plastic leakage pathway has been determined to be related closely to these factors. |
