AbstractThis study presents an object-oriented modelling of the Doppler filter and the mobile radio channel in the digital signal processing environment. The channel has been assumed as diffused multipath channel. Different digital filter techniques were analysed and the better method was predicted, to implement the Doppler filter. This analysis was done in matlab. The QuickSig, a newly developed object-oriented DSP environment has been used to implement this design. In addition to the modelling, this study shows how the existing QuickSig environment is modified to be applied in the cellular mobile system. Two objects were identified to model the channel, which are based on the existing object hierarchy in the QuickSig. As an initial stage FIR windowing technique has been used to model the Doppler filter. The simulation results are presented for Rayleighs and Rician fading channels based on the GSM specification.
