Abstract | Monitoring cost in a construction project involves revising the basic cost information on daily basis as well as performing a detailed cost analysis. Cost managers will have to perform a tedious task as the project cost and schedule information are recorded in separate documents. This research focus mainly developing a user-friendly cost management system using BIM 5D technology which allows the user to manage cost information inside the 3D model. this was done in three phases as Python GUI, Revit and Synchro. Python GUI will change the excel sheets into a generalized format, this will be used in the dynamo script. 12 dynamo scripts were written in order to exchange data between Revit and excel, calculate quantities and other necessary parameters and to draw s curves. In the last step an existing software called synchro was used visualize the progress of the construction and also the cost progress. |
